Our new charity for 2023

Our 250+ staff have spoken and our new MJAllen Group charity for 2023 is Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and affects over half a million people in the UK, over 40,000 of which are under 65. Alzheimer's is also twice as likely in women than in men.

As a family business, quality of life and the care of our employees both during and after their time with us is something we value highly.

We’ll be working together throughout 2023 to raise funds and awareness to fight this life-limiting condition and engage ourselves in positive corporate responsibilities.

What is Alzheimer’s?

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. Dementia is the name for a set of symptoms that includes memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. Dementia develops when the brain is damaged by diseases like Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease. This means that gradually, over time, more parts of the brain are damaged. As this happens, more symptoms develop, and they also get worse.

Keep an eye out for future updates about our positive work and the fundraising we’ll be doing across the MJAllen Group to highlight and fight this life-limiting condition, for our staff, our families and our community.
