Winter testing with MJAllen and Ford
Our team of engineers at County are now in Arjeplog, Sweden, conducting official winter testing for our British engineered transmissions for Ford Motor Company and their Ford Transit van.
The MJAllen Group sends our team to this huge frozen lake in Arjeplog, northern Sweden, every year to take advantage of the winter conditions for testing and improvement purposes.
Arjeplog is famous for vehicle testing for many of the large OEMs as the area provides a consistently harsh environment such as extreme cold and hazardous roads that allow for consistent and reliable testing results to be taken. Temperatures reach -30°C and testing occurs on frozen lakes and a mountain course specially prepared for stability and traction control events.
Our County team will be visiting the area to develop new programming for Ford, which will include testing of the Ford specification snow chains in conjunction with the all-wheel-drive system on Transit vans and other vehicles.
