Makino A100 now fully operational

The new Makino A100 machine is now set up and producing finished pieces at MJA Castings and Machining in Ashford.

The huge machine takes up 50m2 of workshop space and weighs 30 tonnes. It’s 80% larger and 20% heavier than normal and is one of only three in the country!

Cutting feed-rates and rapid traverse rates are quick at 1,970 ipm (50m/min), and the 0.4G acceleration performance is exceptional for a machine of this size.
